For our first Charette we were suppose to look up different group homes for young teenage moms and how they are helped in each home. this was to give us ideas on how we can design the space to fit the needs of each person who is living in the house. Our group looked up different places from international to local. My place was Florence Crittenton Services in Charlotte, NC. I found out the things like the services that they provide and about the places that they stay in. One story i found of how it got started was about a 16year old girl who commited suicide becuase she didn't want to face the pain that she would put on her family and friends. So religious leaders and the community of North and South Carolina got together and came up with the Florence Crittenton Services.

outlook on the project

We were giving a project. Its called the Urban Studio "My Sister's House". We are designing a house/home for young single pregnant teenage girls. This house will help these young girls get the support and help that they need to get back on their own. They are allowed to stay at this group home up to 2 year. There will be room for 5 moms and a house mom to live in this home. Our class was divided into 4 groups. Interior Architecture, Product Design, Architectural Detailing, and Landscaping Design. I was put in the Product Design group, and we will be deisgning the furniture inside the space.
